U.S.-Australia Alliance Emerging Leader's Program

Selected as an emerging leader through the UWA Defence and Security Institute's U.S.-Australia Alliance program, focusing on the bilateral defence relationship and Indo-Pacific security.

Bhaw was selected for the U.S.–Australia Alliance Emerging Leaders Program, delivered by the UWA Defence and Security Institute. The program brings together emerging leaders from Australia and the United States to examine the bilateral alliance, AUKUS and the strategic challenges shaping the Indo-Pacific.

Participants engaged with diplomats, defence officials, military personnel, academics and industry representatives through expert-led workshops, policy exercises and discussions. They examined key alliance priorities, including defence cooperation, shipbuilding, cybersecurity, critical minerals, emerging technologies and Western Australia’s strategic role.

Working in multidisciplinary teams, participants analysed regional security challenges, evaluated policy options and developed alliance-focused recommendations. The program strengthened their capabilities in strategic analysis, policy development, stakeholder engagement and cross-sector collaboration.
